Autumn at Barrington Court
Past and present come together at Barrington Court during the autumn. Bring all the family for an inspirational mix of things to do.
Autumn is just as busy as spring for many plants and wildlife. There are seeds and fruits to ripen, vibrant colours to admire and a whole host of wildlife to watch. Nature’s beauty is evident in the orchards and kitchen garden, which is coming to the peak of production. The gardeners will be busy picking for the restaurant.
Don’t forget to head out into the wider estate for even more marvels. There is a series of trails to help explorers get the most out of this gloriously hectic season. Follow the seasonal ‘Care for Barrington’ trail to find out about seeds, leaves, spiders and more.
There is an inspirational poetry trail exploring all the seasons – from foxes in the snow to oystercatchers in the summer, there a dozen artistic treats to discover. Pick up a map at reception to find all the locations, each with an exquisite nature scene and different poem to prompt your imagination.
You can keep your creativity flowing with self-led craft activities – some especially ‘warty’ pumpkins and gourds have been grown to inspire you, or you can find a spectrum of autumn leaf colours from palest yellow to deepest crimson falling from the vines and trees in the garden.
