Strode dining and tea room
It’s a real treat to have morning coffee, lunch or tea in the afternoon, right in the heart of this place and actually in some of the rooms where the Lyle family used to do the same.
Choose your table and feast on fresh homemade food served by our friendly team, the warm and cosy wood panelled wren room, with sofas and views of the south lawn and countryside is relaxed and inviting, the strode dining room is elegant and atmospheric with its high ceiling and impressive fire places, and wonderful views of the lily garden and the water court from the windows. When the weather is warmer you can also sit outside for an al fresco experience, there are tables and chairs and we also have a selection of picnic blankets you can use to sit on the lawn.
Where ever you choose to sit the service is relaxed, friendly and attentive, there’s a menu on each table so you can take your time choosing what to have. Each table has a number so you can place your order at the till when you’re ready and our team will bring it over to you.
The menu regularly changes and reflects what’s in season and growing in the kitchen garden. There is always gluten free and vegetarian options and we are happy to accommodate particular requests when possible, just ask a member of the team. Everything is made in our kitchen from scratch by our talented chefs and kitchen team who use the freshest ingredients.
Summer is here
We are celebrating summer with our new kitchen garden menu that features dishes such as rainbow chard, cherry tomato and cheddar quiche served with new potatoes and a salad garnish.
There’s also an original selection of non-alcoholic fruit refreshers, all made here with our own kitchen garden produce, choose from:
Cucumber and mint refresher, rhubarb and ginger fizz or strawberry elderflower and mint. They are so delicious you may want to try one of each!
We open at 10.30am for morning refreshments, lunch is served between 12pm and 3pm, tea and cake is available all day until 4.45pm when last orders are taken, (we're unable to take bookings or reserve tables).
Every penny you spend in our restaurant helps us look after special places like Barrington Court, forever for everyone.
