A short walk around Welcombe Mouth
This is a simple one mile circular route starting and finishing in the National Trust car park. Incorporating stunning Atlantic views and inland valleys.

Start:

From the National Trust car park head for the stream, over the stepping stones and turn right at the waymarker to walk up the valley.
If the river is in flood you can follow the footpath up the river on this side.
Extending the route
This walk can be extended after crossing the stepping stones, follow the steep path up to Knap Head and then on to the cliff-top Iron Age hill fort at Embury Beacon. You can then return the way you came or follow the waymarkers back down a wooded valley.

Upon reaching the bridge turn right onto the road.
Wild daffodils
Look out for wild daffodils during spring along the river.

Follow the road to the cross roads and head back down the lane towards the car park.

After passing the National Trust sign look out for a small gate on the right, follow this path back to the car park.
