We think our star-studded skies overhead are as valuable as our beautiful rolling landscapes so why not come along to one of our fun family events at Birling Gap to discover more about the world above...

Daytime planetarium

Saturday 11 & Friday 17 February     10:30 - 15:00    

Visit our daytime planetarium and learn about the wonders of space and the solar system.  Join space communicator Melanie on a tour of the night sky in our mobile planetarium. Spot galaxies, planets and stars as you navigate through the universe.

Stargazing night

Saturday 11 February 18:00 - 21:00

An evening gazing at the stars with our professional space communicator.  Come and join us at Birling Gap for a night of space discovery. Listen to William Joyce, FRAS as he discusses "Could there be life elsewhere in the solar system?" in a fascinating illustrated talk, enjoy a warming stew, and then gaze at the stars with our local astronomy group. Bring warm clothes for the stargazing sesssion

Comet making workshop

15 February 2017    10:00 - 12:30 & 13:30 - 16:00 

Have a go at making your own comet and learn about how they are formed.  Join Melanie from Creative Space and learn what comets are and how they are formed. Then create your own in an icy astro comet bake-off. Using ingredients found in real comets to make your very own.  Wear comfortable clothing, protective gloves and goggles will be provided.
