Big Camp at Frog Firle Farm

Pitch your tents and enjoy some wild camping at in this scenic spot in the Cuckmere Valley and enjoy an evening of family fun. Join a guided bat walk, take part in moth trapping and toast marshmallows over a camp fire.

Our Big Camp is taking place on Sat 16 July.  Arrival time at the farm is from 7pm, when staff will be on hand to direct you to your pitch before you embark on this night-time adventure. 
This evening offers the chance to explore this beautiful downland farm, rich in wildlife and steeped in history and a perfect place to snuggle down under the stars.  Set up moth traps with the Rangers, which you can open in the open to discover what nocturnal visitors have been fluttering around whilst you sleep.  Then take a walk by torch as you listen out for bats hunting for their prey.  Finish the night with a warming mug of hot chocolate as you toast marshmallows over the campfire before you roll into your sleeping bag and fall asleep.  Full details and booking information can be found here.  Prices are as folllows: child  £5, adult £10.
Event information
  • Due to the size of the camping area car parking is in a separate field.  On arrival you will be welcomed by a member of staff who will be able to provide help and a trolley to transport camping equipment if necessary.
  • Individual campfires are not permitted, but there will be a large shared fire on site.
  • You will need to bring breakfast with you, but we will provide bread for toasting over the fire in the morning along with tea and coffee.

How to get here

For Frog Firle Farm take the B2108 (Alfriston Road) between Seaford (A259)and Alfriston.  The farm is on the eastern side of the road and parking is signposted in the field opposite.  For sat nav use BN26 5TT. The Cuckmere Valley Ramblerbus number 47 stops at High and Over car park, and the camping area is a 10 minute walk down the hill.
