About The Dial House

With the tidal harbour of Brancaster Staithe and the North Norfolk coast on your doorstep you can expect stunning views of the marshes and sea beyond. Of course this part of the country is famous for the number of rare birds that stop in on annual migrations and some of the UK's best nature reserves are just a stone's throw away.  You'll also be in the perfect location for activities such as sailing, walking, cycling and more. There are historic houses within driving distance and many soft sandy beaches along the coastline, including Brancaster Beach just a few miles down the road.

Inland, explore some of Norfolk’s beautiful flint villages and discover Norwich, the county's most populated city, with its medieval architecture, beautiful cathedral, independent shops and countless pubs, cafes and restaurants.

More information

Acorn Rating: Please note, that while bothies and bunkhouses show a 1 Acorn rating on this site, facilities are more limited. A bothy offers a ‘camping with walls’ experience, usually with no electricity or running water. Bunkhouses provide simple, accommodation for groups – mostly dormitories with bunk-beds – showers, electricity and heating.

Heating: The bunkhouse is heated by a combination of underfloor heating and radiators.

Bedding/linen: 1 pillow and waterproof mattress provided. Please bring all your own towels and linen e.g. pillowcase and sleeping bag or pillowcase, sheet and duvet.

Parking: We would suggest car sharing where possible due to the limited public parking at the harbour entrance. There is enough space for a coach or minibus to temporarily drop off or collect guests but there is no designated or National Trust parking for the Dial House.

Garden: There is a fully enclosed south facing courtyard to the front of the building with a patio area and garden furniture. There is space provided by the boundary wall to use barbecues.

Hazards: The Dial House is located within the small working harbour of Brancaster Staithe. During busy times the harbour receives a lot of traffic, including boats and trailers. Please be aware of tides, creeks and mudflats. The harbour can be liable to tidal flooding.

Induction Hob: Please note there is an induction hob at this bunkhouse. Guests with pacemakers are advised to check with their doctor to ensure there will be no interference with their pacemaker. Guests with pacemakers are also advised to keep a distance of at least 60cm (2ft) from the hob when cooking.

Is this bunkhouse for you? Our bunkhouses are perfect for guests who want to enjoy the outdoors and meet up with friends and family. We do not accept hen and stag groups at this bunkhouse.

There are neighbours nearby, so we respectfully ask that you keep noise to a minimum after 10pm.
