1
From Brownstone car park follow the path down to Froward Point (clearly signposted). You'll be walking along a military road put in place when the gun emplacement was built at Froward Point during the Second World War.
Froward Point
You will pass by the Day Mark in a field to your left - this mark is used by coastal shipping for navigation. At Froward point there is a gun emplacement from the Second World War, as well as the National Coastwatch Institution lookout.

2
Follow the coastal footpath to the right, towards Outer Froward Point. Along this section of the walk there are spectacular views over the Mewstone.
The Mewstone
This outcropping of rocks is popular with seabirds, who nest and roost here. It is also the most eastern haul out for grey seals in the English Channel - see if you can spot them on the rocks.

3
Follow the coast path on to the edges of Pudcombe Cove. Here the route heads inland but a nice detour, if you have the time, is to the centre of the coast path at Pudcombe Cove, where there is a viewing point. From the viewing point it is a short walk to the bottom of Coleton Fishacre garden (free entry to National Trust members).
Pudcombe Cove viewing point
This small cove used to be the home of a tidal swimming pool belonging to the D'Oyly Carte family - you can still see the outline of the pool. The steps down to the cove have eroded away, so the cove is no longer accessible. This is a great viewing point for watching peregrine falcons, which hunt over the cliffs.
4
Follow the footpath inland (this section is steep in places), until you reach Brownstone Road. Head left down this quiet country road to reach Brownstone car park.
