Improving the car park at Burton Bradstock

To keep providing outstanding service to all of our supporters we will be improving the conditions of the car park this June. This will cause some temporary disruption as some of our hardstanding bays will need to be closed while contractors do their work.

Improvements to take place this June include:

  • Extensive maintenance work to nearly 170 metres of French Drains as well as installing 25 metres of new Drains. This will control the movement of surface water and prevent the car park surface degrading and the runoff that this creates on to the beach.
  • Many of the timber posts that have become weathered and rotten are to be replaced with stone and further fencing is to be installed on our hardstanding to divide the bays to make it clearer and safer where you should park.
  • New gates will be put in at the top of our overflow fields to create and in and out system, again to make it clearer and safer for our visitors, staff and volunteers.
  • New bicycle racks will be installed at the front of the car park by our Welcome Board so if you’re planning on cycling to Hive Beach, you’ll have somewhere to lock your bike.

We apologise for any disruption this may cause in the short-term, but we’re really looking forward to providing an even better service once improvements have been completed.

Staff and volunteers will be on hand to support you during your visit.
