Heath End Lodge at Calke Abbey

Heath End Lodge on the Calke Abbey Estate, Derbyshire

Built in 1806 the lodge is Grade II listed and is perfectly situated for walks around Calke Estate, Staunton Harold and the nearby Dimminsdale Nature Reserve. The cottage has been refurbished with plenty of character and sleeps 3 people.

The ground floor

On the ground floor is an entrance/utility area. The beautifully decorated sitting room is a good size. It is an unusual shape which adds to its character and has an open fire to keep you cosy and warm.
The kitchen/dining room is well equipped and leads to the garden. The stairs in this property are shallow and very steep and may not be suited to everyone.

The first floor

The property has two bedrooms. The first is a double room with a 5 foot (1.5m) bed and the other is a comfortable sized single room. The bathroom has a hand held shower over the bath.

The garden

There is a seating area and large lawned area which slopes and is not enclosed. There is parking for two cars and care should be taken not to block the entrance to the field as access is required at all times.
