Lighting Up Clent

Clent Hills Lit Tree

Lighting Up Clent Hills in celebration of Diwali. Join us on Saturday 2nd November from 4pm-7pm for an illuminated walk and celebration at Clent.

Get Involved

Come and join the celebrations and see the Clent Hills in a new light. There will be a warm welcome awaiting you after walking the mile-long pathway to the very top of Clent, where the hills will glow with lights and where we will gather around warming fire pits.  You are invited to bring your own safe lighting (mobile phone torches, lanterns, lightsabres and glowsticks) to help us celebrate.

Everyone is welcome to bring some food to share, a blanket to keep warm and enjoy the view of lights across the city from the hilltop. The café will be closed but we will have limited supplies of stew and chai tea available on a first-come, first-served basis; come prepared for this special gathering.

Diwali is one of the most significant festivals in the Indian culture, celebrated by millions of people across the world over five days every autumn. The Festival of Lights celebrates the triumph of light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance, good over evil.

You can download your own Rangoli sheet, designed by Kerry Lesie, to colour in at home right here. (PDF / 0.84375MB) download

This is a free event for all to enjoy! Meet at Nimmings Car Park, B62 0NL at 4pm.
