Treat yourself at our cafe and shop

Billard Room tearooms

Every penny of profit we make in our café stays at Dinefwr and helps ensure the National Trust can continue to look after this special place for ever, for everyone.

Billiard Room Cafe

We have a wide range of light lunches and desserts available at our Billiard Room Tearooms. Our warm and friendly staff and roaring fire during the winter months make it the ideal place to relax and take in your surroundings. The window seats are an excellent choice for viewing the White Park cattle which spend most of their summer in the inner park.

Award winning produce

We're proud to say that our venison is a winner of the prestigious National Trust Fine Farm Produce award.

Our fallow deer can be traced back to the year 1660. They graze on the fallen leaves of veteran oaks in an ancient woodland pasture that hasn't been altered by man for centuries.

Our venison is on sale in our cafe and shop. Please ask a member of staff about availability.

The National Trust has achieved the Soil Associations Bronze Food for Life Award.  This means you can be reassured we know exactly how our food has been grown, raised or reared.  We can trace our meat back to the farm, all our eggs are free range and our food is free from undesirable additives, colourings, sweeteners, trans fats and GM ingredients.  To achieve the Bronze award we worked closely with the Soil Association and looked at everything from our menu and our suppliers, to the way that we prepare our food.  As a conservation charity that looks after a huge variety of special places, including 500,000 acres of farmland, our food and where it comes from is an important part of what we do.

Newton House Courtyard Shop

Our shop is located in our inner courtyard, in what would have been the Head Housekeepers Parlor. If you’re looking to treat yourself (or a friend/family member) we have three rooms of delectable delights to tempt you; from our range of UK woven wool blankets, to our tasty jams, curds and marmalades. It’s technically guilt free if you know you’re directly contributing to the upkeep of a beautiful 17th Century Manor House, right?

'Y Gegin' Second-hand bookshop

Pick up a preloved treasure from our brand new second-hand bookshop. We have a diverse range of books to suit all tastes thanks to generous donations by our lovely supporters. So come along, take a comfy chair and lose yourself in literature. All we ask in return is for you to pop a donation in the honesty box. Every single penny goes directly towards our conservations efforts across the Dinefwr Estate.
