WNO's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland

Alice in Wonderland by Welsh National Opera

Based on Lewis Carroll’s classic novel, the opera features the larger than life characters that Alice encounters during her journey in Wonderland. Welsh soprano Fflur Wyn performs the title role of the young girl who goes on a fantastic adventure, following a white rabbit, taking tea with a Mad Hatter, March Hare and sleepy dormouse and ultimately rescuing them from the grumpy Queen of Hearts and her henchmen Tweedledum and Tweedledee.

In this fantastical place Alice comes across a number of peculiar characters, including a relaxed Caterpillar, a happy Cat, a depressive Hare, a white Knight, a romantic Duchess, a mad Hatter and a sleepy Dormouse, and learns that all is not well in Wonderland; a mysterious (and very cross) Queen of Hearts seems distressingly keen to chop off everyone’s heads...

The classic tale of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland comes to life in this quirky and delightful family opera. Follow Alice down the rabbit hole on her adventures where she encounters a whole host of peculiar characters including a relaxed caterpillar, happy cat, depressive hare, mad hatter and sleepy dormouse. Find out why all is not well in Wonderland and why the Queen of Hearts is so cross.
