We like everyone who stays at our campsite to have an enjoyable time, so we politely ask that you observe a few simple rules.

Arrival times

If you're arriving at our campsites without booking in advance, we recommend you arrive as soon as you can after midday to secure a pitch, or to phone ahead for information. Remaining pitches are allocated on the day, on a first come, first served basis.

Please check in at reception before pitching during the following hours:

Peak periods

Saturday to Thursday: 12pm - 8pm

Friday: 12pm - 8pm

Off-peak periods

Sunday to Thursday: 12pm - 6pm

Friday and Saturday: 12pm - 7pm

Pre-booked pitches

If circumstances beyond your control prevent you from arriving within reception times, we’ll leave your welcome pack at the reception entrance for you to collect. It will contain all the information you need to settle in for your stay.  Please contact us on 019467 23253 if you have any problems or queries and staff will do their best to assist.

Departure times

Please leave by 11am on your day of departure. If you wish to stay an extra night, please ask at reception before 10am (reception is open from 8am every day).

Minimum stay

There is a minimum two night stay at weekends and for all advanced bookings. A three night minimum stay applies at Bank Holidays.

Parking

Unlike our other campsites in the Lakes, parking is provided on your pitch next to your tent or campervan unless you’re camping on the adults only meadow, which has no access for vehicles. In this case, please park in the little car park opposite the shower block.

Dogs / pets

Dogs are welcome on site (maximum of two per party), but please notify us at the time of booking. Keep them on a lead at all times and please clean up after your dog, promptly. A charge will be incurred for each dog.

At Eskdale, dogs are allowed inside the pods.

Quiet please

We ask that our visitors are considerate to their neighbours at all times, but ‘quiet please’ between 11pm and 7am.

Pitches

Please leave at least six metres between tents and campervans (including any awnings)

Maximum occupancy

The size of a party (except for organised groups) is restricted to a maximum of four adults and four children. We cannot accommodate large groups of friends and families although larger groups may occasionally be allowed at the discretion of the site manager.

Occupation of pods is limited to two adults plus one child.

Groups

Organised groups such as scouts, Duke of Edinburgh award groups and similar can be accommodated at certain times of year. Proof of group status will be required when booking.

All group leaders must complete a group booking form including full details of the number in their party and the number of tents and vehicles.

All group bookings must be made via the booking office and cannot be made online. Call our Bookings Team, Monday to Friday 10am - 4pm, on 01539 432733 or email your requirements. Please note that your group's booker must be at least 18 years of age.

Fires

For obvious reasons, campfires are not allowed, but barbecues are permitted, provided they are raised off the ground. Ask the campsite team for stones if necessary.

Safety

Cooking inside tents or pods is NOT permitted and can be lethal due to carbon monoxide poisoning.

Smoking

Smoking is not allowed in or around the pods, shop, and facility block.

Special requests

Special requests, including requests for adjacent camping pitches, must be indicated to us at the time of booking. We will always do our best to honour them but they cannot be guaranteed.

Complaints and feedback

We'll do our very best to ensure you have a very enjoyable stay with us. If however, you find cause for complaint, please immediately contact one of the campsite staff, so that reasonable steps can then be taken to rectify the problem. We will not normally make any refunds in respect of complaints made after departure from the campsite if you did not make the problem or complaint known to staff during your stay.

If you've provided an email address at the time of booking,  we'll send you a survey link asking for feedback. Alternatively, a comment form may be completed and left at campsite reception.

If you'd like to make a complaint once you've returned home, please contact our General Manager by post or email to:
