Where is the nearest town or village?

Beddgelert is 3.5 miles away. Porthmadog, which is larger with more facilities, is 8 miles away.

Where is the nearest food shop?

Beddgelert is 3.5 miles away; it has a post office, village shop and tourist information.

Where is the nearest pub/restaurant?

Beddgelert. Most pubs tend to stop serving food between 8pm and 9pm.

Where is the nearest bank?

Beddgelert has a post office with cash withdrawal facilities. Porthmadog is 8 miles away which has a bank.

Do you take bookings?

Bookings are now available online for next season.

Do you accept dogs?

Dogs are welcome on a lead at the campsite. Please note the campsite is located on a sheep farm where there are working dogs. We politely request that gates are left closed to stop the sheep getting on to the campsite.

Where are some good walks for families?

Gelert’s grave walk in Beddgelert is an easy one mile walk. There are many walking trails on the website.

Where are some good mountain bike routes?

Beddgelert village and forest route can be found from grid ref: SH 573503.

Can we go fishing nearby?

The river Glaslyn provides good opportunities for fishing for brown trout. The river is controlled by the Glaslyn Angling Association who can also advise on other fishing opportunities in the area.

Glan Morfa trout fishery just outside Porthmadog is a 5 acre lake set in beautiful countryside and is kept well stocked with rainbow trout.

Where is the nearest bus stop?

There is a bus stop close to the campsite, it's situated at the bottom of the access road for the farm and campsite.

There are bus timetables on display at the campsite.

Do you have laundry facilities?

Tumble dryer only - requires £1 coin to operate.

What places are there to visit nearby?

The campsite is based on the foothill of Snowdon which is perfect if you’re planning to walk up Snowdon. At the top of the campsite you can join the Watkin Path that will lead you to the summit. Please be aware that the Watkin Path is eight miles (there and back) with an ascent of 3,330 feet, therefore plan ahead and bring appropriate equipment

Beddgelert, Craflwyn and Sygun Copper Mines are all nearby.

Do you take credit card payments?

We do accept credit cards when making an advanced booking online. Cash is accepted onsite.

Are you open all year round?

Seasonal opening hours apply – Easter to end of October

Can I have a fire or barbecue?

Yes, but but you can only use the designated campfire pits. BBQs are permitted; please raise BBQs off the ground.

Can under 18s stay at the site?

Yes, however under 18s must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Do I have to pay for the showers?

No

Can I park my car by my tent?

No. The car park is next to the campsite. There is limited parking please car share where possible.

Is there phone signal or wifi at the campsite?

There is no wifi or mobile signal at the site. The nearest payphone is on the main road at the entrance to the drive leading up to Hafod y Llan – approximately a 5 minute walk from the campsite.
