Romantic winter getaways on the Isle of Wight

During the chiller months there's nothing more romantic than escaping the cold and snuggling up with your loved one somewhere warm and inviting. With roaring log fires and cosy interiors, our holiday cottages are the perfect retreat for couples after a day exploring the magical winter landscape of the Isle of Wight.

Time together

Want to escape the busy schedule and make the most of spending time together as a couple? From windswept downland to coastal retreats, our cottages are located in various peaceful and secluded locations across the Island, which means you can do just that.

Nestled under the downs in the heart of the valley, Longstone Cottage provides the perfect place to retreat to. Set in an isolated location, and lit by solar lights, it's a true hideaway from the rest of the world.

At Knowles Farm, you can awaken to the sound of the waves crashing against the shore. Located next to the sea, this ancient farmhouse is set at the end of a private road and is surrounded by fields. Watch the light from the nearby lighthouse dance across the sea as you cuddle up in front of the warming fire.

" ….an excellent location for getting away from it all."
- A guest at Pomone

Set high atop the downs and with spectacular views out to sea, the Coastguard Cottages (Pomone, Irex and Varvassi) on the Needles Headland are a great base to discover the dramatic landscape of the west Wight. They are also just a short stroll from the Needles Battery tea-room, the perfect place to treat each other to a special cream tea at the weekend  - just right for the Valentine’s period.

Seaside strolls

Even in winter, our coast is still a beautiful place to explore. And there is nothing more romantic than walking hand in hand along the beach together on a bright winter’s day. Stay at Old Church Lodge on St Helens Duver, and you’ll be just a few minutes from the shore, the ideal place for a romantic, warming stroll.

For couples who prefer something a little quirkier, Little Chert, offers a little bit of retro brightness on a cold day. Ideally suited for two, it's cheerfully decorated with monochrome interiors and colours of the 1970s, and provides a sheltered environment from which to explore the warm microclimate of the Undercliff together.

And you can feel extra cosy knowing that everytime you enjoy your perfect romantic retreat together on the Isle of Wight, you’re helping to protect the special places we look after for everyone to enjoy, forever.
