Wembury Beach car park closure
Wembury Beach car park will be closed to all vehicles until Friday 8 July 2016, after part of the retaining wall beside the road collapsed.
Contractors are carrying out the necessary work so that the road can be open again as soon as possible.
We have put an emergency road closure in place for everyone’s safety, but there will be some parking available in the nearby church car park.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused while these essential repairs are taking place, and appreciate the patience and understanding of our visitors at this time.
Can I still visit the beach, Marine Centre and Old Mill Café?
Yes, you can.
If you are planning a visit by car, the normal National Trust car park will not be accessible. However St Werburgh’s Church have kindly offered their car park for visitors while the works are taking place.
The Church has limited spaces available, and we ask that visitors arrive after 11am on Wednesday to minimise disruption to their services.
Parking charges will apply as normal, which is £5 from 8am to 4pm, and £3 after 4pm. National Trust members can park for free, and part of the charges will go back to the Church.
If you are planning to park elsewhere and walk to the beach, or take a bus instead, the South West Coast Path and the path through the meadow will remain unaffected by the works.
How can I find out more information?
