Shopping at Goddards
It might be Terry’s but now it can also be yours…if you buy it from the small yet select gift shop in the house.
Welcome to the shop
Part of the charm of Goddards is the relatively small size of the house and the real feel of a family home, however we know many visitors enjoy a browse around a National Trust shop as part of their day out. So you can pick up some lovely gifts in the retail area on the ground floor.
What to expect
It’s a small space so we’ve focussed on the Terry family and how they lived at Goddards for inspiration. There are selected seasonal items from the National Trust range and local suppliers that reflect this family feel.
" It's not Terry's, it's mine"
Mrs. Terry enjoyed making jam so grab some of the special flavours on offer…not made by Mrs. Terry we might add. We know the Terry family enjoyed picnics in the garden so if you’ve haven’t come prepared, pick up one of the popular blankets, they’re also useful for keeping warm on those cooler evenings.
The beautiful garden is such a key part of Goddards, when in season choose one of the plants on offer to brighten up your outdoor space. Kathleen Terry often pruned the roses in the formal garden; pick up some dead-headers to keep your blooms looking at their best.
And of course, you can pick up a chocolate orange or two. A treat not just reserved for Christmas stockings.
