Walking trail

A beautiful, short riverside walk, with two wooden troll bridges. It's an ideal place for wild flowers and a great spot for picnics in the summer months.

The walk begins at the footbridge that crosses over Hayle river on the right. The next 436yd (400m) is easily accesible and suitable for wheelchairs and pushchairs. When you get to the bottom of this section, the path widens out and a granite road bridge comes into view. There's a wooden bench on the left if you fancy a rest and listen to the river and bird song.

At the footbridge cross the river, under the trees and turn right. The terrain on this section is uneven, and can get wet and muddy in places. This part of the walk is not advisable for wheelchairs and pushchairs. Follow the track on the right, the path opens up to reveal a landscape that's been altered by the alluvial tin works of early tin streamers. Keep following the path and cross the wooden bridge. Turn left and retrace your footsteps back to the car park.

Riverside walk


This is a dog-friendly route with an easy terrain, which may become muddy in wet weather. The majority of the walk is easily accessible, but the terrain at point 3 is uneven and wheelchair and pushchair users may find the route inaccessible.

How to get here

Godolphin, Godolphin Cross, Helston, Cornwall TR13 9RE
By train

Camborne, 9 miles (14.5km).

By road

From Helston take A394 to Stithney Common, turn right onto B3302 to Leedstown, turn left and follow signs. From Hayle take B3302 to Leedstown, turn right and follow signs. From west, take B3280 through Goldsithney and turn right at Townsend.

By bus

Route 513, Penzance to Leedstown; 39, Camborne or Helston to Godolphin Cross. It's a 20 minute walk from both stops.
