Gwithian bus stop to Godrevy walk
Have a car-free day and catch the open-top bus to Gwithian and follow this short walk from the bus stop to take you to the rocky headland at Godrevy. Spend the day on the beach paddling, swimming or surfing, or take a walk along the rugged coast for far-reaching views and unique wildlife.

Start point
Gwithian village bus stop, opposite Red River Inn, grid ref: SW585411
Step 1
From the bus stop in centre of Gwithian village, walk straight on up the main road. You will pass the parish church on the right and the nursing home on the left.
Step 2
Once you have passed the last buildings of the village, walk a further 20yd (18m) and take the footpath on your left. These are the dunes of St Gothian's Nature Reserve. Keep the lake on your right.
Step 3
Follow the path carefully, veering a little to the right, and head for the footbridge over the Red River. To access the beach, don't cross the bridge but head left, alongside the river, to the beach. Otherwise, go over the bridge, up the path and into the National Trust car park where you'll find the visitor welcome team straight ahead and Godrevy Café on your right.
Step 4
From the car park, you can carry on through the dunes along the boardwalk on your left, to reach another part of the beach as well as a viewing point. To head out to Godrevy Point, carry on from the viewpoint, following the footpath running above the beach.
Step 5
From the field car park, you can also carry up and around the headland, for far-reaching views over the ocean and space to have a picnic. To return to the bus stop, retrace your steps.
Step 6
This spot is a hail bus stop on the Atlantic Coaster route. You can ask the driver to drop you here if you want a quicker route to Godrevy. From here, carefully follow the path beside the road, to get to the car park mentioned in Steps 3 and 4.
