Getting to Godrevy from the bus stop
Adventure begins at the bus stop. In the summer months this short walk from the bus stop will take you to Godrevy. Atlantic Coaster route (ATLA). Please check current timetable for up to date bus times and note the seasonality of this route.

Start:
Gwithian village (pt1) or Godrevy bus stop (pt6)
1
From the bus stop in centre of Gwithian village (opposite the Red River Inn) walk straight on up the main road past the parish church on the right and the nursing home on your left.
2
Once you have gone past the last buildings of the village, walk a further 20 yards (approx) and take the footpath on your left, through the dunes of St Gothian's nature reserve, keeping the lake on your right.
This is a really good spot for wild fowl wading birds and you may also see silver studded blue or dark green fritillary butterflies between spring and autumn and most commonly seen in the warm sunny summer days.

3
Follow the path carefully, veering a little to your right, as you head for the footbridge over the Red River. Go over the bridge, up the path and into the National Trust car park where you'll find our visitor welcome team straight ahead and Godrevy Café (concession) on your right.

4
To get to the first access point to the beach go back over the footbridge and down to the beach over the Red River. There's further beach through the dunes along the board walk on your left, which also has a viewing point. To head out to the Godrevy Point carry on through the car park, past the surf school on your left and onto the footpath running above the beach.
Please keep to the paths as the cliff edges are fragile and there is farm and visitor traffic on the road.
5
Carry on the footpath and going down the steps to Godrevy's top cove on your left, near the field park area, or head up and around the headland, with far reaching views over the ocean and space to have a picnic (taking care to pick up your litter). From here you can carry on further up and around the Knavocks or along to the North Cliffs which eventually drop down into Portreath. To get back to the bus stop, loop back around to the first (café) car park. Go to point 6 on the map for a hail bus stop, or retrace your steps to return to Gwithian village.
Look over to your left to see the famed Godrevy lighthouse.

6
Point 6 is a hail bus stop, so ask the driver to drop you here if you want a quicker route to Godrevy. Then look at the map and see which point to follow to get to the different parts of Godrevy. Please take care if walking down the lanes as they get very busy at times with visitor traffic and farm vehicles.
End:
Godrevy beach
