'50 things to do before you're 11¾' at Hanbury Hall

Hunting for bugs at Hanbury Hall

'50 things' is a list of the ultimate outdoor challenges to complete before you reach the milestone age of 11 and ¾. From bug hunting to bird watching, den building to running around in the rain, there’s something for every type of explorer.

Here’s some of our favourite ’50 things’ that can be completed at Hanbury Hall. Make sure you pop into our visitor reception to ask what the latest challenges are to do at Hanbury.

4. Build A Den

Visit our Wild Play area and build your own forest home. With a plentiful supply of sticks, twigs and leaves you can create a sizeable fort or perhaps you prefer a cosy den for one (good for spying on everyone else).

6. Go welly wandering

Never mind those grey skies. Pull on your wellies, run around in the rain and splash in the puddles.

7. Fly A Kite

Let’s go fly a kite! With lots of green spaces to explore,  there’s lots of room to get a good running start and help your kite take flight.

18. Make Some Wild Art

Collect twigs, leaves, feathers and whatever else you can find in the park to help you create a unique piece of wild art.

28. Climb A Huge Hill

Grab yourself a park walk leaflet from our Visitor Reception and head out to conquer the huge hill that leads up to nearby Hanbury Church.

31. Make friends with a bug

The outdoors is home to millions of bugs and Hanbury’s gardens offer the perfect habitat for all kinds of creepy crawlies. Who can find the creepiest crawly?
Remember to return what you find to the wild before it’s time to leave!
