Hanbury Hall is full of fun adventures for all the family. There’s always lots to do to keep little ones busy in the great outdoors, from exploring the playground, to discovering the gardens in a seasonal trail.

Planning your family visit

  • Baby changing facilities are located in the Stableyard toilets.
  • We request that children over 5 years of age do not ride bikes onsite. Children under 5 with small trikes are permitted. Visitor Reception will use their discrection on the day for other children's toys.
  • Highchairs available in the Courtyard Kitchen.

Cupid & the Cherubs - February half term

Step into a world inspired by Cupid and the playful cherubs found in the Hall’s historic wall paintings. As Valentine’s Day falls within the holiday week, we’re sharing some of Hanbury’s own love stories and offering a range of activities for visitors of all ages to enjoy.

Out in the gardens, families can follow Cupid’s Quest (£2 per booklet), a five‑point trail filled with simple, hands‑on activities. Children can decorate their own set of Cupid’s wings, try a cherub‑themed obstacle course, practise their aim with beanbags, search for hidden cherub symbols, and have a go at an archery challenge. Indoors, little explorers can take part in our Find the Cherubs trail, discovering eight paper roses placed around the Hall.

In the White and Tapestry Rooms, visitors will find a special display sharing stories of love connected to Hanbury, alongside historical information about Saint Valentine. A beautiful Love Tree will also be on show, offering a quiet moment to write and hang a message for someone special.

The Long Gallery will host Cupid Crafts each day from 10am to 4pm, where children can make their own quiver and arrows using simple materials. Face painting with local artist Joy is also available (£4 for a cheek design, £6 for a full face).

Easter 2026

Saturday 21 March – Sunday 12 April 2026, from 9.30am – 4pm, with last entry at 3.30pm, so come along and explore the beautiful parkland of Hanbury Hall. Prices are £3.50 per trail which includes an Easter trail sheet, bunny ears and dairy or vegan and Free From* chocolate egg.

Our Easter trail is packed with hands on activities inspired by visitor favourites—perfect for little ones eager to explore. Children can race wheelbarrows around winding slalom poles, test their aim with beanbags and hoopla, or see who can fling a welly the furthest across the lawn.

Creative minds can enjoy drawing their own portrait on vibrant flower‑shaped chalkboards, composing their own tunes with our joyful outdoor music station, and discovering what’s hidden inside our tactile mystery boxes.

For those who love to build and imagine, loose‑parts play with giant wooden blocks and nature‑themed noughts and crosses frames offers endless opportunities to create and play. With each stop along the trail designed to encourage movement, curiosity and shared moments, it’s a delightful way for families to spend time together in the fresh spring air. Join us for a day filled with laughter, exploration and the simple pleasures of being outdoors.
