About The Lugger

Pull back the curtains, watch the river tumble past and hear the gulls squawk as this small fishing village comes to life. Just up from the harbour is this river-side, white-washed cottage. It’s a former pilchard cellar that houses three holiday apartments – The Lugger occupying the second floor.

From the main bedroom, views of the winding River Valency and the surrounding headlands unfold. Other highlights include its sun terrace and a unique shared garden that sits atop a limekiln. The Lugger is in the heart of Boscastle, where you’ll be able to wander around its old pubs and crooked cottages.

You can also loop onto the South West Coast Path where the cliffs of Penally Point and the wooded Valency Valley, rich in Thomas Hardy history, unravel. The closest sandy beach is Trebarwith Strand, which is just five miles to the south west.

As well as the neighbouring apartments, The Clinker (sleeps two) and The Gaffer (sleeps two), you’ll find Harbour View (sleeps five, dog friendly) in Boscastle overlooking the quayside and Boscastle Elm Cottage (sleeps four, dog friendly) in the wooded valley nearby. They can be booked together.

Layout

Second floor: Open-plan kitchen, dining and sitting room. Two bedrooms (one double with 5' bed, one single). Bathroom with shower over the bath.

Outside space

Enclosed, kiln-top, sheltered garden shared with The Clinker and The Gaffer.
