Pentireglaze East Cottage is a light and spacious Victorian stone cottage, high on a hill with views of the coast. A ten-minute walk down the bridleway takes you to the closest beach, and you’ll be surrounded by walking trails to make the most of North Cornwall’s beautiful landscapes. Look out for grey seals, a variety of sea birds and peregrine falcons.
Inside, you’ll find some charming original features and lots of vintage furniture finds.
This is a practical and comfortable cottage, with a handy spot for coats and boots in the entrance porch. It leads into the sitting room, with comfortable places to sit by the log burner, and then the dining room with a flagstone floor, original fireplace and views of the surrounding countryside from the farmhouse table. You’ll find a lovely green kitchen and the bathroom at the back of the cottage.
Upstairs, there are two bright and airy bedrooms. Each one has a unique panelled headboard using wood reclaimed from the cottage.
The enclosed garden, to the front and side of the cottage, has a table and chairs for dining outdoors and enjoying views of the sea and Polzeath in the distance.
The closest beach is Pentireglaze Haven, a sandy cove with rockpools, which links with Polzeath surf beach at low tide. It has seasonal dog restrictions, but Port Quin and Rock beaches welcome dogs all year and are just a short drive away. The South West Coast Path runs the length of this coastline, with views across Padstow Bay and the coast. There’s lots to discover including Pentire Point, the prehistoric Rumps and history dating back to the Iron Age.
The cottage is semi detached, next door to Pentireglaze West Cottage, a National Trust holiday cottage for four people, and across from Overhaven, sleeping 6 guests, and The Old Farmhouse, sleeping 5 guests.
