About Shute Barton

Stay in one of Devon’s most important old manor houses. It dates back to 1380 and now, after a major restoration, is an exclusive holiday home with historic significance. The historic building has one of the largest fireplaces in England as well as many other original features. As the estate is only open to the public four times a year, you’ll have the luxury five-bedroom manor house and its lawns all to yourself.

Whether you’re banqueting in style, surveying the grounds from the 15ft-high window or lounging in its wood-panelled bedrooms, your stay at Shute Barton is sure to be a memorable one.

Beyond the grounds are the picturesque seaside towns of Sidmouth and Lyme Regis. Stop for lunch in one of their many restaurants and cafes after exploring this stunning stretch of the Jurassic World Heritage Coast.
