Limited parking: signposted and is on the short track just after the main drive (which goes under the gatehouse) if coming via Shute Road A35. If there are no parking spaces, then there is some parking in the village but please be mindful of residents. Walk up the drive, entry on your right.

By the small parking area on the driveway (just after the gatehouse entrance if the gatehouse is on your left).

Medieval building arranged over three floors. We are sorry but wheelchair access is not possible due to numerous steps and staircases. The garden is on several levels which are connected by a combination of stairs and ramps.
- By bus
- Take the X38 Stagecoach from Exeter to Seaton via Honiton. The journey takes about an hour, there are 3 buses a day and the service is Monday - Friday only. Please note the property is open for public access ONLY on 8 dates a year. At other times, it is a holiday cottage so there is no entry to the property.
- Cycling
- Shute Barton can be cycled to along local roads. Please note the property is open for public access ONLY on 8 dates a year. At other times, it is a holiday cottage so there is no entry to the property.
- By road
- 3 miles south west of Axminster, 2 miles north of Colyton on Honiton to Colyton road (B3161).Parking: Limited parking. Please note the property is open for public access ONLY on 8 dates a year. At other times, it is a holiday cottage so there is no entry to the property, and no parking for visitors.
- By train
- The nearest railway station is Axminster, about 5 miles from Shute. The X44 bus from Axminster brings you to the junction of Shute Road and the A35, and you would then need to walk about 2.5 miles to Shute. Please note the property is open for public access ONLY on 8 dates a year. At other times, it is a holiday cottage so there is no entry to the property.
