Stay in a house so well preserved, you’ll feel as though you have stepped back in time. This extravagant seven bedroom stay occupies the west wing of the 14th-century house, Lytes Cary Manor, where dark wood-panelled walls, fine period furnishings and grand bedrooms run throughout. Perfect for those special family get-togethers, the house has multiple sitting rooms, a formal dining area and views over the well manicured gardens.

Enjoy all of the gardens hidden gems followed by a refreshment in the tearoom next door. Guests are invited to explore the garden ‘after-hours’ when all the visitors have left. Walk even further through the extensive parkland which will lead you along the River Cary.

A short drive away is the mythical town of Glastonbury. Wander through its quaint streets, peruse the town’s eclectic shops and scale Glastonbury’s famous Tor. Montacute House and Barrington Court are both within a 30 minutes’ drive from here.

Lytes Carey can be booked with 3 Lytes Cottage (sleeps three, dog friendly) which is a short walk away.
