Stay in a house so well-preserved, you’ll feel as though you have stepped back in time. This extravagant seven-bedroom stay occupies the west wing of the 14th-century house, Lytes Cary Manor, where dark wood-panelled walls, fine period furnishings and grand bedrooms run throughout. Perfect for those special family get-togethers, the house has multiple sitting rooms, a formal dining area and a private terraced garden.
You’ll be overlooking the intimate Arts and Crafts-style gardens of the manor, which you’re invited to explore ‘after-hours’ when all the visitors have left. Walk even further through the extensive parkland which will lead you along the River Cary.
A short drive away is the mythical town of Glastonbury. Wander through its quaint streets, peruse the town’s eclectic shops and scale Glastonbury’s famous Tor. Montacute House and Barrington Court are both within a 30 minutes’ drive from here.

Second floor: two bedrooms (1 double with 5' bed and 1 twin) and bathroom.

Heating: The house has partial central heating and some night storage heaters.
Parking: Parking for 2 cars is available to the side of the house, additional parking available in the visitors main car park which is about 40 yards from the accommodation.
Garden: There is a private terraced garden.
*WiFi: This is now available, but please note that intermittent connection problems can sometimes occur and should not be relied upon. We are pleased to provide free WiFi at this cottage which is supported by BT.
Utilities/Electricals: The washing machine and tumble dryer are a combined washer/dryer.
Offers: Guests will benefit from a late Sunday checkout of 4pm at this cottage.
Please note: The Grass Tennis Court is only suitable for use in the dryer periods of the summer, and it is expected that the court will be marked out and available in June, July, August and September. At other times of the year the surface is too wet for playing on, and using the court out of season will damage the surface and could result in slipping over.
