    No. 1 Belton is a Grade II-listed country retreat just across the road from the entrance to Belton, where you'll have free entry during opening hours. Belton is often described as the perfect English country estate, with one of the finest surviving houses from the late 17th century, filled with an outstanding collection of portraits, silver, ceramic and books. It has formal gardens, a conservatory you might recognise as Queen Charlotte's orangerie in the Bridgerton spin-off, and 1,300 acres of parkland where you can spot fallow deer, follow the trail along the river and explore the woodland.

    As well as the Stables Café, Belton has an idoors play cafe - and our largest adventure playground. There are lots of family-friendly activities and events to join through the year. 

    The cottage itself was built in 1896 for the estate's Clerk of Works, and featured in the BBC adaptation of the children’s novel Moondial. 

    There's a golf club in the village, and you can drive to Grantham in about 10 minutes for plenty of services. You'll have free entry at nearby National Trust places Grantham House,  Tattershall Castle and Woolsthorpe Manor during opening hours.

Grantham House 

An urban oasis in the heart of Grantham with expansive lawns, walled garden and riverside meadow. Indoors you'll find a delightful café and well-stocked second-hand bookshop. Admission is free for everyone as part of the National Trust's strategy objective to end unequal access to nature, beauty and history.
