About The Gaffer
A traditional Cornish village stay alongside a winding river that winds down to the harbour. This historic 3 storey building that houses The Gaffer used to be a pilchard cellar. Take a short stroll past the blacksmith’s forge to the garden atop the limekiln, a nod to its industrial past. You’ll be able to wander around the old pubs and crooked cottages of Boscastle or walk down to the harbour and look out for the blow-hole beneath Penally Point, often called the Devil's Bellows. You can also hop onto the South West Coast Path where the cliffs of Penally Point and the wooded Valency Valley, rich in Thomas Hardy history, unravel. The closest sandy beach is Trebarwith Strand, which is just five miles to the south west.
The Gaffer occupies part of the first floor of the building. It’s a romantic and cosy apartment with elegant interiors. There’s an open-plan bedroom, sitting and dining area and a separate kitchen and bathroom.
