About West Challacombe Cottage

A countryside cottage with sweeping vistas and a country rustic interior.

Look out over sweeping vistas of rolling hills and coastal heathland from the windows of this two-bedroom. It sits in a dreamy location high on Holdstone Down, so nothing will come between you and those stunning views.

Step inside the white-washed cottage to reveal a bright and airy space that hints rustic charm with its log-burner, dark wood flooring and panelled walls. You’ll be able to breakfast alfresco on the front lawn, which is shared with neighbouring West Challacombe Manor, which can be booked together, before setting off for the day ahead.

Wild Pear beach is a short walk from here and the shops and restaurants of Combe Martin are just a 20 minute walk. As you’ll be on the fringes of Exmoor, you could loop onto the South West Coast Path for its rugged coastline or delve further into its hilly moorlands.

About the Acorn rating

We have applied a 1-5 acorn rating to each cottage to be used only as a guide that covers location, style of interior and facilities you may be looking for. The range runs from 1 Acorn at a more basic level such as Bird How which due to its stunning yet remote location doesn’t have a caretaker through to 5 Acorns at the highest level – such as Shute Barton.

Cottage pricing is not judged on the Acorn rating alone and as all our cottages are of an individual nature we recommend that all factors are considered when making your choice.
