About Dinefwr Traditional Christmas Fair

Kick off the festive season helping deliver this traditional Christmas fair.

Join us for busy, fun-packed week helping the staff at Dinefwr deliver an outstanding experience for visitors and traders alike. Jobs will include stewarding, selling raffle tickets, helping our traders set up and take down their stalls, serving tea, clearing up after the event, putting the house back together and cleaning. It's a full-on week but very rewarding to be part of a dynamic team delivering this hugely popular annual event.

About the accommodation

Dinefwr Bunkhouse forms part of courtyards adjoining Newton House of the Dinefwr Park Estate. The combined living area and kitchen are homely and sociable, with large sofas and a wood-burning stove. Bedroom accommodation is in dormitories with 3 to 8 single beds each and modern, newly refurbished shower rooms. There are fantastic views over the seventeenth-century deer park from the patio which is reached from doors off the living area and has wooden bench seating and a barbecue. The old kitchen for Newton House is situated below, and the basecamp would once have been used for servants’ accommodation.

Notes for guests

Warm layers and comfortable footwear are a must. Anybody wishing to dress up in Edwardian-period clothing is welcome to bring a costume and wear it for the fair, our visitors love to see it (some dressing-up costumes are available at property).
