Stays near winter lights

This winter, book a stay near a spectacular light show or twinkling trail at one of the houses or gardens in our care. There's plenty to experience from mid November to early January.

Guests have free entry to National Trust places to visit, but there are usually additional charges for trails and events. Be sure to book your tickets in advance. Details of more winter events will be confirmed in the next few months, so keep checking back to find out more.

Christmas at Belton 

Christmas at Belton returns for 2025 with a brand-new light trail, stunning installations, and all the festive magic you love.

Stay at Blickling

As darkness falls, the gardens of Blickling Estate come alive with light and wonder. There are seven cottages on the Blickling Estate - Blickling Tower, Bureside, Meadowside, Mill Farm Barn, 4 Park Gates, Blacksmith's Cottage and Blickling Dairy House.

Stay near Sizergh

Follow a nature-themed trail of lights through the woodland at Sizergh after dark. The light-and-sound installations will include magical animations of deer, glowing pond lilies and lamps shaped like creatures and plants.

Winter at Sizergh 

There’s winter wonder for the whole family at the gateway to the Lake District this year. From 21 November - 24 December, make memories with loved ones at Sizergh. Tickets will be live in July.

Visitors, including parents with a small child who is holding his mothers hand, walking around the light trail at Sizergh. The trees are lit up in different colours and Victorian-style lampposts are hung with luminous globes.

Stay at Stourhead

Follow the Christmas trail at Stourhead to find a blaze of light stretching across the lake, huge illuminated feathers floating in the night sky, sparkling tunnels of light and a glimpse of Father Christmas along the way.
