Volunteer with us and care for history, beauty and nature

Making new friends, working in amazing places and knowing that you're helping a conservation cause, just three great reasons to start volunteering with us.

Something for everyone

If you have a few hours a week or spare time on a monthly basis you want to give, there are so many ways to get involved at Hughenden and in the Chilterns.

There's helping in the gardens to working with the rangers, welcoming visitors at reception, in the shop or cafe, bringing history to life in the house or conservation work on our historic collection.

Our volunteers work alongside the staff teams to help us look after our historic mansion, listed gardens and over 3,000 acres of important countryside.

What happens next?

Once you've applied for a role that you like to sound of, we'll invite you in for an informal interview to meet members of the relevant team. This is a chance to tell us why you’d like to be involved and find out the details of what volunteering at Hughenden or in the Chilterns involves.

If your interview is successful you'll be invited to join us for a taster day of volunteering with the team. For each role there is a specific induction and you'll have the chance to shadow experienced volunteers to build your knowledge and confidence in the role.
