Don't get stuck inside this winter, wrap up warm and make new memories with your family. With waymarked estate walks and 50 things challenges, there's plenty to keep them busy. Have a welly walk around the gardens, and look out for our tame Robin. Inside, the café is open every day with a range of winter warming food and drinks.


Every day throughout the winter, convenient facilities are available along with nearby parking, making it easier for you to get out and about with the family.

  • Toilets - located beside the cafe, and also beside the shop (near the house), unisex changing facilities in both locations, steps to help children reach the sinks

Jump and scramble around our natural play area. With natural features and structures made from the wood on our estate, you can let your imagination run wild.

Visit the garden 

Wrap up warm and make the most of the remainder of the year. The transition from autumn to winter creates a lovely contrast as the leaves recede and structural elements appear.

Enjoy delicious hot meals and light lunches from 12 noon - 2.30pm. Many of the ingredients are locally sourced and, where possible, come from the garden and estate at Ightham Mote. Freshly prepared sandwiches are also available daily.
