Apple days and harvest events in and around East Sussex

This article was for events in 2018. Places in and around East Sussex are celebrating the golden days of harvest. Where there’s an orchard, there’s usually an apple day. With apple pressings, tastings, stalls and barrel-loads of apple-flavoured fun, they’ve become a firm favourite in our calendar at places like Scotney Castle and Bateman's. Join the celebrations and check out these foodie events. Any treats you purchase will help keep our places bountiful for next year.

Sample and compare the many varieties of apples we grow, and have a go at making your own apple juice with our homemade apple mill and press. Meet our beekeeper and learn how the bees and the orchard work together to produce this rich autumn harvest. Apple Day takes place Sunday 14 October, 11am to 4pm

The orchard is ripe with autumn fruits. Grab a bag, stroll through the gardens and select the cream of the apple crop to take home. Crisp and juicy, they are just too tempting to miss.
