Easter holiday fun in and around East Sussex

This article was created for our 2018 activities. This Easter there are nature-themed trails throughout the school holidays at our special places in and around East Sussex. Visit Bateman's and Bodiam Castle across the two-weeks to find Cadbury Easter Egg Hunts brimming with clues and challenges. The trails test your powers of observation and deduction and lead to intriguing new discoveries about nature, wildlife and the places you visit. When you follow an Easter trail, you help us look after these places for generations to come.

Bodiam Castle 

Have fun out and about in the castle grounds as you collect 'egg points'. Make your way around our 50 things to do before you’re 11 ¾ nature inspired Cadbury Easter Egg Hunt. A delicious Cadbury chocolate treat awaits you at the end. Fri 30 March to Sun 15 Apr, 10am to 4pm. Normal admission applies, hunt cost £3

Scotney Castle 

Get Easter off to a flying start with a Cadbury Easter Egg Hunt inspired by Edward Hussy’s childhood diaries. Seek out the wooden bird boxes throughout the garden to reveal which egg belongs to which species. You can also try den building on the woodland trail, or tackle the balance beams in the wild play area. Fri 30 March to Sunday 15 April, 10am to 5pm. Normal admission applies, hunt cost £3.

Bateman's 

Discover more about nature on our Cadbury Easter Egg Hunt as you make your way around the garden on an adventure inspired by bees, birds and flowers and win a delicious Cadbury chocolate treat. Fri 30 March to Sun 15 Apr, 10am to 4pm. Normal admission applies, hunt cost £3

Sissinghurst Castle Garden 

Take part in our Cadbury Egg Hunt in the grounds of the world-famous garden created by Harold Nicolson and Vita Sackville-West. Follow the hunt to claim your delicious Cadbury chocolate treat and keep your eyes peeled for the first of our spring flowers in bloom. Fri 30 March to Mon 2 April, 11am to 3.30pm. £3 per hunt.

Smallhythe Place 

Solve riddles to help you in your search for hidden clues on the Cadbury Easter Egg Hunt. For our younger explorers, tick off our top nature highlights around the garden. Once the quest is complete you will be rewarded with a delicious Cadbury Easter treat from the Theatre Tearoom. Fri 30 March to Mon 2 April, 11am to 4pm. £3 per child.

Monks House 

Our Cadbury Easter Egg Hunt takes you on a tour of the garden looking for clues in unusual places. Navigate the orchard, search high and low in the courtyard gardens and explore around the garden ponds. Once the hunt is complete why not relax with a picnic on the lawn and play a game of bowls? Fri 30 Mar to Mon 2 Apr, 12.30pm to 4.45pm. £1.50 per child.
