National Trust places in London have Christmas all wrapped up for you this year. From beautifully decorated historic houses, like 17th-century Ham House & Garden in Richmond to wreath making workshops at Rainham Hall and Osterley Park & House. Plus, there are Christmas craft fairs to enjoy and family fun including outdoor trails and games. Once you've soaked up the festive atmosphere, our cosy cafés are the perfect spot for catching up with friends and family over a hot drink and a seasonal treat.

Planning ahead for Christmas

Stars of Wonder: Christmas at Ham House and Garden 

29 Nov 2025 - 4 Jan 2026. Get into the festive spirit with a visit to Ham House, sumptuously decorated with stars for Christmas 2025, inspired by our celestial globe which returned from conservation this year. Take in twinkling candlelight and fairy lights, Christmas trees and aromatic greenery as you discover the stunning Stuart interiors. A sugar banquet as well as star decorations made by our volunteers will also be on display. Closed 24 & 25 Dec 2025.

Christmas Art & Craft Fair at Rainham Hall 

6 & 7 December 2025, 11am - 4pm. Pop along to our Christmas Art & Craft Fair where we'll be welcoming local artists and crafts makers to showcase their goods in the Hayloft, its the perfect spot to pick up unique gifts and stocking fillers. Free entry. The cafe will be open too for tasty treats.

Christmas at Morden Hall Park 

Come for Christmas shopping in Morden Hall Park's Garden Centre or second hand bookshop, get your Christmas tree and visit for wintery walks in the park and cosy treats in the Potting Shed Café. In the Garden Centre, you’ll find UK-grown trees, sustainable decorations and thoughtful gifts for all ages. Browse seasonal homeware, books, pet accessories and locally-sourced treats — perfect for stocking fillers or something special. Enjoy late-night shopping on Thursday 27 November too. Or why not visit the Young Maker's Market on 30 November for handcrafted gifts and original artwork from talented young local artists, makers, and entrepreneurs.

Marigold Festival at Osterley Park and House 

Until 4 Jan 2026, come and see Osterley Park and House transformed with dazzling displays of light, music, and marigolds as part of the first ever Marigold Festival, celebrating how marigolds are used as a celebratory flower in South Asia. Building on the Diwali celebrations earlier in the year, the decorations will be in place throughout the Christmas period for you to enjoy, with rangolis and light projections. Watch this space for details to follow of sari fabric wreath making workshops too.

Walking in London 

Wrap up warm and step outside for a festive walk with the whole family. Just the thing to blow away the cobwebs during the rush of Christmas. Choose from short level routes, or longer more adventurous walks.

Winter crafts events for you

Winter wreath making at Rainham Hall 

If you've ever wanted to create your own winter or Christmas Wreath for your front door, book now for these special grown-ups only workshops in the Hayloft at Rainham Hall with florist Sam Pelly on 29 & 30 November. All materials are provided and your ticket includes a free hot drink at the beginning of the session.

Sari wreath making at Osterley Park and House 

As part of our Marigold Festival this year, join Priya Velusami of Pri Pri for a fun and creative workshop making your own upcycled fabric wreath on selected dates between 26 November and 13 December 2025. You’ll craft your wreath using a beautiful selection of colourful sari offcuts. Whether you hang it on your wall all year round or use it as festive door decor, your finished piece will be totally unique.

Christmas days out and festive fun for all the family in London

Festive family days out at Ham House 

As part of the Star of Wonder season, when you visit Ham House, you and the kids can follow a festive spotter trail through beautifully decorated rooms, filled with twinkling lights and seasonal scents. In the Back Parlour, a cosy reading nook awaits — complete with soft cushions and a Christmas tree to set the scene. Downstairs, there’s more to enjoy: little ones can try on costumes and pen a letter to Father Christmas. There’s also crafting fun waiting in the Garden Room for little hands to enjoy. 29 Nov 2025 - 4 Jan 2026, closed 24 & 25 Dec 2025.

Family wreath making at Rainham Hall 

Book now for a special family-friendly wreath making session at Rainham Hall on 29 November. All materials and a hot drink at the beginning of the session are included. Tickets are for 1 adult and 2 children per wreath.

Elf's cosy Christmas story time at Morden Hall Park 

Perfect for little ones age 3 - 7, step into our Christmassy exhibition space on 6 or 13 Dec to find it transformed into a festive reading room. Our resident Head Elf will delight children and families with magical Christmas tales, celebrating both the joy of stories and the spirit of the season. Every child will receive a new wrapped Christmas book to take home, celebrating the joy of reading and honouring our much-loved secondhand bookshop at Morden Hall Park.

The Great Reindeer Hunt Trail at Morden Hall Park 

Need to get the kids outdoors to blow the cobwebs away? Visit Morden Hall Park from 29 Nov 2025 to 4 Jan 2026 where something magical is happening – six of Father Christmas’s reindeer have gone missing, and they’re hiding in familiar corners of the park... Follow the festive trail, solve the clues, and match each reindeer to the colour of its nose. Along the way you’ll discover jokes, challenges, and facts. £2 per trail, available from the garden centre. Closed 24 & 25 December 2025.
