Make your January that extra bit special with these top exhibitions in and around Surrey. We have a smorgasbord of special shows from Polesden Lacey’s antique Asian treasures, to famous masters like William Blake at Petworth. Polesden Lacey 

We're throwing the spotlight on 25 of the vivid Asian pieces in the collection at Polesden Lacey. From books to ceramics to furniture, collected during Mrs Greville’s travels in the Far East. Exhibition open 2 February to 3 May 2018.

William Blake's The Last Judgement, 1808


A major new exhibition at Petworth is the first of its kind to celebrate William Blake’s relationship with Sussex. Some of Blake’s greatest works from poetry to painting will be displayed. Includes works on loan from the British Museum, National Portrait Gallery and Tate. 13 January to 25 March 2018.

In the Nymans gallery this winter is an exhibition featuring a varied selection of Oliver Messel’s portraits of famous friends and family. From 20 January to 3 June 2018.

Standen Collection Wallpaper


Artists and designers Rebecca Aird and Peter Thwaites - Rapture & Wright - have imagined how they might respond to a contemporary commission for bespoke fabrics and wallpapers for Standen. Their designs are on show until 15 April 2018.
