This Christmas, step into a world where Tudor traditions collide with modern festive celebrations.

Join the mischievous Lord of Misrule and his playful band of fools as they find themselves mysteriously transported from the time of Henry VIII to Little Moreton Hall today. As they journey through the beautifully decorated Hall, they encounter many Christmas customs that leave them puzzled. From festive fashions and gift-giving to seasonal food and decorations, much of modern Christmas is a complete mystery to these Tudor tricksters.

As visitors follow Misrule's adventure through the Hall, they'll discover how Christmas has changed over the centuries and help him and his 'juggle of jesters' uncover a timeless festive truth: that bringing family, friends and communities together has always been a key tradition to the season. 

 

Planning your visit

• Last entry to the Hall: 3.30pm

• Welcome Building closes: 3.45pm

• Site closes: 4pm

There is no additional charge for this event, but normal admission fees apply. National Trust members visit free on presentation of a valid membership card.

Booking is not required.

Please note that parking is limited. If the car park reaches full capacity, a one in, one out system will be operated for safety reasons.

 

Performers

Performances take place on Saturdays and Sundays only throughout the festive opening times, adding music, mischief and merriment to your day. Performance times for the jesters and Merrie Noyse will vary throughout the day, so keep an eye out as you explore the Hall.

Escape the winter chill and cosy up in the historic Tea Rooms at Little Moreton Hall this festive season.

Enjoy seasonal bakes, warming drinks and a relaxed atmosphere surrounded by centuries of history. If you're looking for a quieter visit, Fridays are usually our calmest days, so you can savour the festive charm and avoid the queues.
