Easter fun at the gorge
Over the Easter holiday's there's lots to see and do at the gorge. There is the Cadbury Egg Hunt, an Easter bunnies woodland sculpture workshop and Easter craft activities.
This year the Cadbury egg hunt in the orchard will introduce you to some of the egg laying animals in the gorge. Follow the trail and find the clues to answer the questions. There is a chocolate prize for each completed hunt.
Ahead of the Easter weekend there are various craft activities including making a bunny face out of wood. Under the guidance of the rangers, you will be using basic hand tools and pieces of wood to create a bunny face for your garden or home.
Easter is also a great time to keep a look out for the signs of spring. The birds can be heard singing in the trees and the bird hide provides an ideal place to rest a while and watch the woodland birds on feeders. Bird watching is also one of the 50 things to do before you are 11 3/4. There are other 50 things activities such as pooh sticks which can be played at the waterfall bridge, hunting for bugs and looking inside a tree. At the gorge the dead wood logs lying around provde great habitats for insects, fungi and plants.
