Garden conservation

View through the Apostle Garden at Lytes Cary

To help us conserve this fragile garden, we sometimse need to let the grass rest. We may need to adjust your route so you can view areas whilst discovering the highlights of other garden rooms.

When the Jenner family designed the garden they were a family of 3; now we have over 70,000 visitors per year and to keep the grass healthy we often need to rope off some areas of the garden. The Arts and Crafts style garden showcases perfectly manicured rooms, and to maintain the Jenners vision we need to conserve the grass. Our gardeners make sure all areas are as visible as possible. By visiting Lytes Cary and other National Trust properties you are helping us look after what we have got, so the gardens can be enjoyed for generations to come.
