Eating at Lyveden

Servery under construction

Things are changing at Lyveden. Construction of our new facilities down at the manor continues. The Manor will house a larger café for visitors to enjoy lots of delicious treats. We hope to be serving you later in 2020 when Lyveden reopens.

As work continues our F&B team have been busy planning a new menu ready for opening, including local recipes inspired by Lyveden. Our new café will allow us to provide visitors with a larger range of dishes, such as one pots.

The servery is starting to take shape with our custom-made counter now installed.

Work continues on the new indoor seating areas for the café, which will seat around 60 people. At the end of 2019, we tested paint samples for the visitor facing spaces. With the final colours chosen, painting has now started.

The colour scheme we have chosen takes inspiration from Sir Thomas himself. Tresham's correspondences, known as the Tresham Papers, contain lots of references to colour. We've also researched the symbolism of Elizabethan colours to inform our choices.
