Looking at Lyveden differently
We had the opportunity to work with Screen Northants and young people from across Northamptonshire to create an introductory film for Lyveden that was shown as part of our sneak peek visits to Lyveden Manor in 2018. The film explored a different perspective on faith, belief and the Tresham story.
The group filmed at Lyveden with two contrasting narrators giving different perspectives on the story of Lyveden and its relevance to the modern world. The film prompts visitors to not only explore the past, but consider how themes from Lyveden's history - such as faith, belief and identity - apply to our lives today.
" You shouldn't just be staring at a history project, or just a monument, you should try and take in what you can change about the future from looking at what Thomas was trying to do."
While planning for the film, the group talked about Lyveden and what they'd do with it if it was theirs. It was a place of truth for Thomas Tresham. What truth would the young people we're working with transmit to the public through their use of Lyveden manor?
