Christmas tree sales at Marsden Moor

Marsden Moor ranger carrying Christmas tree

Find your perfect Christmas tree and help to support the work of the National Trust at Marsden Moor at our Christmas tree sales this December.

***PLEASE NOTE: We have limited Christmas Trees left and will no longer be selling trees on the 13th December. We will still have trees for sale on the 12th December***

After a challenging 2020, many of us are looking forward to putting up the decorations and getting in the festive spirit this Christmas. With a selection of premium, sustainably sourced, British-grown trees in a range of sizes, there’s a tree to suit every home.

Choose from classic Nordmann Firs or Fraser Firs with their blue hue and distinctive scent.

Held in the Old Goods Yard, HD7 6DH, sales begin Saturday 5th December, 9.30am - 3.30pm.  Sales will continue at weekends until Sunday 13th December.

Our friendly team of rangers and volunteers will be on hand to offer guidance and assistance. Also on sale will be wooden items crafted by our volunteers.

The sales take place outside, with a one way system and social distancing in place.

What safety measures are in place due to the Coronavirus outbreak?

As our Christmas tree sales take place outside in our yard, transmission risks are lower compared to indoors. However, we will also be introducing some extra safety measures this year. These include a one way system, limiting the number of people in the yard at a time, and contactless payments. There will also be plenty of hand sanitiser available and wearing a mask will be encouraged. Unfortunately, we will not be able to provide mulled wine and mince pies as we have during previous sales.

Is there parking on site?

Yes, accessible parking is available next to the Old Goods Yard and volunteers and staff will be on hand to help with netting and loading trees.

Can I pay on my card?

We'd encourage you to pay using contactless card payments where possible. Cash payments are accepted but there will be no change given.

Can I buy a tree during the week?

Yes, but please call ahead or send us a message on Facebook to arrange a collection time.  01484 847016.

How is the money from the Christmas tree sales used by the National Trust?

All of the proceeds go toward our conservation work at Marsden Moor. Restoring and monitoring the moorland, safe guarding it from fire damage, protecting wildlife and habitats and the upkeep of footpaths are some of the main activities we carry out. For regular updates on our work please see our Facebook page.
