Bloomsbury lampshade making

Use inspiration from the Bloomsbury group to decorate your own lampshade.

Example of Kay Hussey lamp for workshop

With guidance from Bloomsbury and Beyond artist Kay Hussey, you will go home with your very own Bloomsbury lampshade. The workshop will include all materials and exclusive access to Monk's House for inspiration. See our Bloomsbury collection including lampshades by Quentin and Angelica Bell. For more ideas follow Kay's work on Instagram @bloomsburyandbeyond.

An idea of the strucutre of the day:

10.00am – Meet and greet – have a quick cuppa and discuss the day ahead.

10.30am - A private tour of the house to soak up the atmosphere before it is
opened to the public. To learn about the house and look at the
interior details and take photos and sketch.

11.00am – Back to the village hall to experiment with mark making on paper
and fabric and chose the colours to work with. Start painting the
design straight on to the lampshade fabric.

2-4pm - Finish the design and make up the lampshade. Add trim if wanted
and time allows.

Finish 4pm - Grab a photo of everyone's completed lampshade.

All materials included and exclusive access to Monk's House.

Sat 5 Oct 2019, £75 per person.
