Eating at Mottisfont

A bowl of Chinese-style pork stew

Mottisfont's beautiful grounds are the perfect place to explore. Why not pop into the Old Kitchen café for a tasty treat or a hot drink on your visit?

We look forward to welcoming you back and know that you’ll support us to make this a safe experience for everyone. Our cafés continue to prioritise the health and safety of our staff, volunteers and visitors.

We'll continue to provide hand sanitiser and we recommend that face coverings are worn in our cafes. You'll find a one-way queueing system for placing and collecting orders. There are protective screens at the till and collection points, and hand sanitiser available. We accept card and cash payments, but prefer contactless whenever possible.

What's open

The Old Kitchen Cafe located on the ground floor of the house, is a short walk alongside the river from the Welcome Centre.

The cafe is serving a limited range of hot and cold drinks, home-made cakes and bakes, savoury snacks and seasonal lunches.  There is indoor seating inside the Old Kitchen Cafe, and outdoor seating directly outside the house, situated by the river and the majestic London Plane tree.

There is a seperate exit and entrance for the Old Kitchen Cafe, and inside you will find a one-way queueing system for ordering and purchasing your refreshments at the servery.

If you have dietary requirements you may prefer to come prepared, as with a limited offer we can't guarantee that we'd have what you need. We do have a small range of gluten and dairy-free food available, and soya or oat milk for hot drinks.

Should you wish to enjoy the gardens with a hot drink, all our takeaway food is served on plant-based disposable tableware which is composted or recycled.  Please dispose of your rubbish in the bins provided outside the Old Kitchen Cafe or in the Stable Yard recycling area, by the Second-hand Bookshop.
