Treat yourself to something tasty from one of our cafés when you visit. Whether you’re seeking a full meal or a light bite, we have a variety of different outlets to suit all cravings, open from 10am daily.

The Old Kitchen

Discover delicious, seasonal food and discover more of Mottisfont’s history in the Old Kitchen, located in our former Victorian kitchens. You'll find this on the lower corridor of our historic house, near the Cellarium.

This is the place to visit for the full range of hot meals, plated salads, home-made cakes and hot drinks, all served on china.

As well as tasty recipes taken from the National Trust cookbook, we're serving up a range of speciality spring dishes (subject to availability), using local produce:

  • Mottisfont own wild garlic marinated goat's cheese, served on a raspberry and walnut salad with a pesto croute
  • Watercress, spinach and broad bean falafel with pitta pockets, mint yoghurt and pomegranate salad
  • Trout fillet grilled with lemon and thyme, sauteed new potato, minted peas and a mango and red pepper salsa

The Coach House Café

The Coach House Café, located in the Stables, serves lighter bites: lunches, snacks and treats. Try a bowl of soup or stew, find hot and cold sandwiches to eat in or take away, and stock up on cakes and drinks.

Everything is served on high quality disposable tableware, all of which is composted or recycled. This café is very accessible for families, with seating both indoors and outside.
