Visiting Mottisfont with your dog
We love dogs and they're more than welcome to explore the gardens and estate with you. While dogs are welcome in most places we ask that you keep dogs on a short lead at all times while you visit, so that everyone can enjoy their time here. If you're a professional dog walker, you're very welcome to make use of our countryside sites if you're licensed with us.
Assistance dogs are exempt from any access restrictions, and are welcome everywhere.
There are plenty of walks around the gardens and wider estate for you to enjoy with your canine companion. You'll find water bowls for refreshment at the Welcome Centre and the Stables.
There are a few places just for humans: please don't bring your dogs into the walled gardens, on to the formal lawns behind and in front of the house, or inside the Coach House Café serving area.
Our visitor reception team can advise you the best places for dogs on arrival, and where you can find appropriate bins. There are maps on site which can help you. Or, click on the following link to take a look before you visit: Download our map for dog walkers (PDF / 0.650390625MB) download
Our estate is the perfect place to explore and roam more freely. If you fancy a longer walk with your dog, visit nearby Spearywell wood.
The woodland is a 3 minute drive (15 minute walk) from the visitor car park. Spearywell wood has a car park and is signalled with markers offering a short or longer walk (up to 3 miles) - please ask a member of the Visitor Reception team for more information and directions. Or, why not try the whole estate walk?
If you're a professional dog walker, you're very welcome to make use of our countryside sites, as long as you're licensed with us.
