Meet the Conversations Youth Media Team
We’re a group of nine teenagers from different schools and colleges combining our personalities and skills to capture our ‘adventures in media’ at Mount Stewart in the lead up to the Conversations festival. We’ll be bringing you the latest updates through blogs, social media, pictures and video. Some of us are photographers, some of us movie-makers, some aspiring writers, and all of us are volunteering to get our Millennium Award.
I am really interested in films and the production of films and I'm hoping that Mount Stewart media team will give me some amazing experiences that I can take with me into life. I am really looking forward to Conversations as I am excited to see the set up of it all and how the public enjoy it over the weekend.
I’m beginning Queen’s University in September, studying English and Social Anthropology, and my creativity will be brought into my role here in the Media Team through blog posts and photographs. I’ve been volunteering here for 3 years and my favourite part about Mount Stewart is mythology and the stories of Edith that are portrayed here.
I am 17 and going into my last year of school. I am studying Maths, Religious Studies, Music, and Moving Image Arts. I have always had a passion for film and music and love to create my own songs and movies. As part of the Media Team I am aiming to showcase some of the amazing Mount Stewart stories through the use of visual arts and get people my age more involved with the culture of the National Trust.
I’ll be going to Art College to study Graphic Design in September. For the past couple of years I’ve been a professional photographer at events. I travel from Ballymena each week, to get the opportunity to explore the unique history of Mount Stewart.
I’m 17 years old studying English Language and Literature, History and Performing Arts, and I aspire to one day be a published author or teacher. I have always had an interest in photography and am completely dedicated to capturing the perfect photo, so much as to get whiplash taking the perfect photo of terrifically tall trees!
I’ve been passionate about History from an early age and I'm now going to study it at university. I've an interest in outdoor pursuits (have completed my Gold DofE) and 20th century history. The Conversations project has allowed me to understand the significance Mount Stewart has played on both a local and national level with the house providing a meeting point for Prime Ministers and distinguished guests. Lord Londonderry's military and political career has proven to be extremely interesting, and I'm looking forward for people to be able to discover this hidden history during the Conversations program.
I love taking photos and having a laugh. Mount Stewart is a place full of fascinating history and heritage and I can't wait to see it flooded with famous guests and speakers.
I love politics and history and I’m planning on studying Politics at A-Level, so the history and stories of Mount Stewart means it’s been the perfect place to spend the summer. I’ve been volunteering as a room guide so I’ve taken to filming the behind-the-scenes vlogs for Conversations to give people a sneak peek into the secrets hidden in the house.
