What to expect from your visit to Packwood

The parkland, garden, café, shop, house and toilet facilities at Packwood are open (normal opening times apply) and we no longer have a booking system in place for visits. In this article you’ll find everything you need to know about what's open and what to expect from your visit. Please remember that dogs on leads welcome in the car park, on public footpaths across the estate, on the cafe terrace and in the barn yard, only assistance dogs are allowed in the garden.

Parking and arrival

Please have your membership card close to hand as you arrive. Our Visitor welcome team are now back in our New Build and will be waiting to welcome you onto site and answer any questions you may have. There are designated Blue Badge spaces available if required.

If you need to pay for a ticket or purchase membership this can also now be done in the New Build upon arrival.


The doors to the house are open, the blinds are up, the clocks are wound, and visitors can come and enjoy this fascinating house. The downstairs and upstairs rooms (dependant on volunteer availability) are open for you to explore. Our volunteers are here to welcome you and share stories about the history of the house and collection. 

Access to the house is on a first come first serve basis via timed ticket, the house opens at 11am and the last entrance 4.30pm.



Toilets - including access and baby change facilities are available in the barnyard and in the café .

Food and Beverage - Our café is open serving a range of hot and cold food and drink and there is both indoor and outdoor seating for visitors to choose from. Dogs are welcome to sit on the patio outdoor seating with you, there are always water bowls close by.

Shopping at Packwood - The shop here at Packwood is located in the New Build and is open daily from 9am-5pm.


The gardens have some gravel paths and uneven areas but all the paths are suitable for wheelchairs.

Dogs on leads welcome in the car park, barn yard, café terrace and on public footpaths across the estate. Please note many of our walks are dog friendly, however please note only assistance dogs are allowed in the gardens.
