Dartmoor is emotive - for the visitor, for the crafts person, for everyone. The gallery and information floor aims to excite you through inspired artwork.
The gallery is on the 1st floor of the shop at Sexton's Cottage. If you're looking for an unusual present or something special for yourself, there's a wide range of crafts by local artisans. To name a few:
- Anne Farag's jewellery
- Textile felt paintings by Sue Lewis
- Richard Shimmel linoprints
- Takahashi McGil's hand crafted wooden homeware
- Sarah Woolfenden
- Raku pottery created by Jennie Hale
Proceeds from any sale made here all go back to help look after our places on Dartmoor, enabling the National Trust to continue the circle and carry on the inspiration.
New craftspeople are found all through the year so, if you're interested in local crafts, the gallery is well worth regular visits.
Amongst the artwork, you'll find a good selection of information about the area and the 'must do' things to see and places to go. What places will you be inspired to visit? Please ask if you'd like any help to find exactly what you're looking for.
