Easter egg hunts at The Vyne

Hope you enjoyed the Easter egg hunts. More fun to come in 2023.

This event has now ended.

Working together, locate the ten trail points in the gardens marked on the trail sheet in your activity pack. At each point there’ll be a nature-inspired sensory activity for you to try out. When you’ve finished, simply show your trail sheet to the Easter tent to collect your chocolate egg or an allergen-free alternative at the end (where available).

Immersed in nature, on the trail you can be a wildlife detective and soak up the sight of a lush green landscape with bursts of spring colour. Look out for beautifully crafted butterflies by the Garden Bookshop and see if you can spot the real thing in the gardens. In the wild garden spin the colour wheel and select a shade of green to hunt for in the natural landscape around you. Become a ‘hedge detective’ and write down who you think lives in our huge hedges. In the wild garden see if you can spot a rainbow display of crocheted flowers.

Just a 15 minute drive from Junction 6 of the M3, The Vyne offers free parking. We’ll probably be quite busy over the Easter period but there’s always more parking at the beginning of the day and later in the afternoon. Feel free to bring a picnic, and wellies are a good idea too if it’s been a bit wet. Once parked, entry is through Visitor Reception where you’ll also be able to purchase Easter egg trail packs - £3 per child. You can collect your Rainforest Alliance chocolate egg from the Easter tent at the end of the trail. If anyone has allergies, we do offer alternatives to this so just ask.

The Easter egg hunt at The Vyne takes an estimated 40 minutes to complete and all trail points are visible from hard gravel paths. You’ll need to keep hold of the trail sheets in order to collect your chocolate eggs at the end. Afterwards, you can get a hot drink and a bite to eat in the, very popular, Brewhouse tea-room. Please bear with us during the busy school holidays. Right next to the Brewhouse, you can browse the gift shop and explore the house if you wish. It’s worth checking the opening times listed on The Vyne’s homepage to make sure you don’t miss anything.

Before visiting, please check local and national government guidance on travelling. You can find more handy information for family visits in the article below. Hope to see you soon.
